I really like Everythin's Alright Forever and Giant Steps. Giant Steps took a while to grow on me but now it's my favorite. I think they were a great band and their name is very fitting. More Beatles-influenced than most shoegaze so i can see why a lot of people dont like it.

I was more speaking in relation to Melting Sun, which doesn't retain the jazziness of .neon at all. Instead, it's a lot more post-rock influenced, which isn't a bad thing, but the jazziness of .neon made it really stand out, both in general and in Lantlos' discography.

I want to get into shugazi but don't know where to start. Closest I've gotten is Xiu Xiu (could be classified noise pop I guess) and Galaxie 500, both of which are now one of my most favorite bands. I've tried listening to some of the supposed shoegaze essentials like Souvlaki, Loveless and Nowhere, but none of it really clicked. Any suggestions?
