What /mu/ think of Rush's magnum opus?
>>68673551
Permanent Waves was fantastic. Hemispheres just missed the cut. Why did you post that album OP?>>68673551
Literally perfect
>>68673551
sorry... what?
Grace Under Pressure.
For me it's a toss-up between this and 2112. Honorable mentions to Farewell to Kings, Permanent Waves and Hemispheres.
>>68673551
9/10
Most underrated Rush album? For me it's this one.
>>68675599
Caress of Steel
Out of all prog artists, I don't think i've ever had trouble getting an artist for me to click as much as Rush. Moving Pictures is good but the rest of their discography barring a couple songs sounds bland to me.
>>68675599
Counterparts, I liked the way they shifted after the very synth-heavy 80's towards a more raw sound.
>>68675599
Roll the Bones
>>68675875
Absolutely love Counterparts.
>>68675899
JACK
RELAX
GET BUSY WITH THE FACTS!
Love Roll the Bones also.

I like certain songs off of each of their synth-heavy releases but overall, none of them are as good as their earlier or later output. Not as bad as their 90s releases though.
My favorite of their synth-heavy releases overall is probably Power Windows.

Fucking fight us, fucker.

Their only 90s album that I can somewhat stand is Test For Echo, and I only like about half of it at that.
>>68673551
I think I'm going bald!
>>68676883
What's so bad about Counterparts?
>>68676949
It's been awhile since I've heard it but it feels like they were trying to capitalize on the grunge sound of the early 90s and the results were not good. I'll give it another listen, though. Maybe it'll grow on me
2112 desu
>>68673551
That's not the first album.

Farewell and Hemispheres come a close 2nd and 3rd though

Power Windows is my favorite Rush album.

You could argue Yes has some better album. But Rush didn't become an absolute embarrassment like Yes did.
>>68681821
Just last night I had a dream where I was seeing Yes. I was with family and friends and everyone was really excited, me probably most of all.
Then we got out of the car and the band was outside the venue and I suddenly realized it was all these fucking phony replacement members who were like half the age of the band members.
Finally I found Steve Howe and went to shake his hand but he fucking died and then I woke up.
Feels bad man.
>>68681894
Yes.
