Not really. He had a happy family and had to deal with it falling apart, which totally sucks, but that's just about the only bad thing that happened to him. The rest was just him being an edgy asshole which caused his lack of friends and eventual drug use (which led to his eventual suicide).

Colin Van Eeckhout has had it pretty rough. He lost 80% of his family to cancer when he was 16, got dumped by his girlfriend at the same time, and had his father die in his arms. To top that off, he, like the rest of the males in his family, is going to die by the time he's 50 years old.

Davis just dwelled on something like that and somehow managed to make a career out of crying about it. His situation is more common than many would like to think, yet you don't see everybody going his route.
