I would pick either Over the Neptune/Mesh Gear Fox or I am a Scientist as the defining GBV song
Over the Neptune is an amazing song that basically chronicles the highs and lows of trying to make it as a bunch of small time 30-something musicians with a dream that GBV was. Feels like Bob/GBV's swan song. And that transition into Mesh Gear Fox is gorgeous. Also their best overall song imo.
I am a Scientist is also up there with their best songs and is basically Bob's mission statement as a songwriter
