This is the kind of black metal I like to hear. Shit that is not afraid to break the mold and still be heavy as fuck. I'm honestly not sure that any other extreme metal genre is as willing to experiment and branch out as black metal. I can't wait to hear the full album, this shit is amazing and incredibly beautiful!

This is an amazing album. I like how heavy it is too. Like, the triplets on the opening track were so heavy I was headbanging and headphones flew off my head! haha. Most regular black metal sounds like mush, not nearly as crisp and mighty as Deafheaven.
