Essential hauntology?
hey do you guys maybe have a mega folder for essentials, or maybe (and this would be even better) some semi obscure or really obscure artists?

when he sings "In the morning I cried", I just break down...
>>68651236

literally who
>>68649353
Belbury Poly, Mount Vernon Arts Lab, Pye Corner Audio.
Please convince me to like the Cure, /dark/.
It just sounds like the Smiths to me.
>>68653448
don't like The Cure, it's gay and not gothic.
>>68653402
a gothic metal band from japan
>autumn is in full swing
>went out with black trenchcoat and neoromantic hairdo
>comfy as fuck
I kinda wish I had a boombox with me to blast some ASF though.
>>68653494
>it's gay and not gothic.
Pornography disagrees.
>>68653588
Pornography?? it's gay...
>>68653448
Robert Smith stil hasn't found the cure for obesity.
>tfw no local /dark/ underground
>tfw none of my friends are interested in trying to kickstart one
>ywn be a teenager in the 80s
>>68653669
>>68653448
>the Cure sounds like The Smiths
I dunno, might be because the frontman IS A SMITH.
>>68654006
Damn...

hated this comp. those bands were all obscure for good reason.
the only reason sacred bones put that shitty album out was because this sort of music has a "hip" status to it nowadays and they wanted to cash in on it.
i'll skip vol. 2.
>>68653681
>tfw
or maybe it's just so underground that... ya know, you can't find it
so
where do i go after this?

Nah vol. 1 was legit. I guess it was geared more toward deathrock fans.
>>68653098
SLAG is solid post-punk.
Here's another.

What's your favorite Skinny Puppy? album or song. Pic and song related for me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y72rzS0sP8I
So I love Bauhaus and Joy Division but I don't really like most gothic rock outside of Fields of the Nephilim.
Music for this taste?
>>68648301
Yes
>>68659099
This one and The Choke
>>68647769
What are /dark/'s favorite horror films? Besides The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Cause Halloween and all that.

Dracula. Had shit acting but a stellar atmosphere
>le u2 is post punk meme
>>68659300
the first few U2 albums are indeed post-punk
>>68659252
The Choke is definitely high up there for me. Ain't It Dead Yet version is the shit.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wo8WARq2t-Y
tfw Skinny Puppy will never go back to this live setup.
>>68659158
You might like Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. Maybe give Soror Dolorosa a listen though they're closer to The Sisters of Mercy than Nephilim.
>>68659289
jourgensen gave himself some intense brain damage through all that drug abuse, it's pretty obvious
same thing happened to genesis p-orridge
>>68659158
You might like My Dad is Dead. Listen to his first album first
>>68659367
GPO literally became one of those old people on facebook who share images of inspirational quotes and conspiracy shit about chemtrails and vaccines causing autism. It's pretty hilarious.
I think Al Jourgensen was a hack anyway who was carried throughout his heyday by more talented musicians. Paul Barker was smart to jump ship and it's irritating to see Al still shit on him who was Ministry's better half. Honestly Steve Albini was right about Ministry being derivative in every incarnation but hey I'll still be bumping the classic shit here and there.

>>68659662
Blasting that song on a good sound system is hype as fuck. That fucking synth bassline.
>>68659551
Klinik is so good. Had the pleasure of seeing Dive which was amazing.
