What's your definition of middle?

I think the songs between Game of Pricks and Closer You Are are pretty weak, but that's only a short stretch.

I think Alien Lanes is a tad overrated anyways. Bee Thousand, Propeller, VoT, Same Place the Fly Got Smashed are all better imo. Still a great album though.

This album is overrated as fuck, only because it has memesongs like Game of Pricks and My Valuable Hunting Knife.
Cigarette Tricks is probably the best GBV song tho.

I think A Good Flying Bird is annoying

otherwise I like the whole album

listening to the album in terms of individual songs is doing it wrong... it's a collage

it's like how a room looks right with all the shit where it is, and if you came home and the clock or a stand or something was moved to a different place, the whole room wouldn't look right

there's nothing particularly remarkable about the clock or the stand, but everything looks better from them being placed where they are

Those songs are pretty much middle of the road. I love this album, don't really think it's close to their best, but songs like Dumbcharger, As We Go Up We Go Down, and Strawdogs are so much more interesting.

Yeah, I know, but i was surprised when i listened to Pimple Zoo (which is god awful, even compared to Her Psychology Today), and a lot of songs are meh. That doesn't mean that it's a bad album, but it's pretty overrated.

Anyway, my fav album is Under The Bushes Under The Stars, which i find pretty underrated, even if it doesn't have a lot of memorable songs it a lot more cohesive and doesn't have any bad song imo.

We talked about the Kinks and 90s indie rock a little bit, I told him how my fiancé bought me a first press of Bee Thousand for my birthday, he seemed interested in knowing how much it was going for, wished me luck on my collections and all that.

He smelled more like old guy than beer or anything, but he's slowing down on the booze for sure
