You're acting like the aim of the album is what it actually achieved. I know that the last square is along the lines of what they were going for, but what an artist intends isn't always what they pull off. Still it's the best of Animal Collective's 'bad' trilogy.

No, I actually can't stand the Wall. The Final Cut would definitely be the superior album, it's more mature and doesn't sound as much like a sophomore in high school wrote it. Atom Heart Mother through Animals would be their best period. Pink Floyd at their best would be when Roger Waters provided the concept and creative direction and Gilmour and Wright tied up the loose ends. That's my idea of Pink Floyd. Sorry.
