I live in Minneapolis and am somewhat involved in the local music scene and it's crazy everybody loves them. It's not really my thing I find it falls into the trap of kind of boring/derivative indie stuff.
That said we have some mutual friends and I've heard nothing but good things about them and from the few times I've chatted with them they seem like nice guys. It also feels great to see a local act doing so well for themselves.
That's kinda the weird thing about some local bands you're glad they're successful and you wish them the very best but sometimes you just don't get down with the tunes.
Rumor has it their next album is pretty bangin tho

This would go down really well in England if they beefed up a bit live. It is mid-2000's Camden sound refined.
I really dig them, I live in So. Minn. and I've seen them live a few times. Their show at Rock the Garden was awesome. I also have a friend who went to elementary school with the lead singer.

A band that played at my Uni covered Suicide Saturday last year, TN fag here. I was hooked, but their music sounds generic compared to a few other indie rock bands.
That doesn't change the fact I enjoy their music though.

Yeah first MPLS guy here and I agree but I don't like to be mean haha
I've seen Hippocampus live (in MPLS) and have been listening to them ever since I heard Save a Little Grace. Their last album South was pretty solid IMO. And it got a lot of radio play in the Twin Cities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4HLPw-8mqU
