I'm tired of the constant star of alienation being at music events where everyone is on drugs or trying to get laid or go on an ego trip or trying to get something for nothing. I love these people they can be make me so happy But I feel left out and bored most of the time. Same for class. Always preoccupied with being the best and who's got their chops, never any human connection. That or it's work. Fuck cocaine. Fuck competativeness. I'm sick of it. Why does everyone have to be on drugs? I want to go out but at the same time where is everybody. It's like a rock and a hard place. I can barely handle people anymore. I just want life to be like 4chan sort of, but real! I'm sick of it.

i get your frustrations about peoples behaviour on drugs, since going teetotal i've been the same. being around people totally off it on dizzle when you arent is really eye opening and sobering (pun innit) and a bit weird

BUT you sound quite judgemental and cocksure about peoples motivations towards these things. obviously coke makes people act like theyre shit hot, but i think its rare that someone is posturing just for the sake of acting like a big man. people just generally want to get mashed and wap their willy, which is universal, and music events and festivals tend to facilitate that really well, so obviously you get a lot of non-heads at these things chasing that.
and of course clubs are social situations and a lot of people just want to have fun and arent necessarily in it for the tunes
i think that you need to reconcile this and find the funny side, its not necessarily a bad thing and like you said, these people are usually jokes as fuck as long as theyre not obnoxious (e.g that "bleep lads at festival" vid)

as for a classroom/lecture hall situation i think youve got the wrong idea, its not about being the best or giving it macca, those places should be an arena for debate and giving viewpoints. its just learning

I talked to one of my friends he said he'd quit drugs... I think he may really do it this time. EDM's not shit until you find something better, I used to listen to EDM, then UKF DnB, then smaller independent labels + jungle. From this I've expanded into dub/techno/house etc.

A pard 'rave' with thousands of people, fancy lighting and EDM is great until you discover underground clubs. The atmosphere of 40 people going balls-to-the-wall in a small dark room blows EDM out of the water. It also becomes more of a lifestyle and closer to 'art' in a way once you move away from the hyper-commercialisation. To be fair, unless you've experienced it it's hard to convince club-less pards that the underground is more fun.
