Unpopular opinions thread: Marcus Mumford is as good as Van Morrison

That's beyond an unpopular opinion. That's just goddamn farcical.
Fuck all of you. "The Cave" is clinical song writing, you're stuff on that le wronggeneration shit
Weezer is better than Merzbow
Tom Waits runs circles around Bob Dylan when it comes to songwriting.
Akira Yamaoka makes better noise/industrial than 99.9% of dedicated noise artists.
Music reviewing is the most worthless concept in the world. Film reviews make sense as they can tell you if an actor does a good job, if the plot is full of holes, if there is structure to the story, all pretty objective things. Music is far too broad and subjective to be reviewed in a traditional manner and reviewers like Fantano is absolutely worthless.

>better than Merzbow
Not saying much.

I don't agree with Marcus being better than Morrison, but Mumford & Sons is legitimately good, people just don't like them since they're mainstream

Did you enjoy Wilder Mind?

It was alright, but there was a lot more they could have done with it imo. It's still a solid 7/10 for me.
I'm actually jamming to Sigh No More atm, and just picked up Babel on vinyl today, will be listening to it after.

I'd be lying if I didn't say I listened to Believe and Only Love a lot of times.

Cold Arms and Hot Gates are my favourite off the record, but I've always been a sucker for their softer stuff.
Got to see them live last summer in Toronto, and they absolutely killed it. They actually sound better live than in the studio
