Hey cool to see you're posting again Foliage. Is there a new album on the way?
I've got a special spooky EP release in mind for Halloween after a few people asked. A few tracks are in progress but we'll see what happens.

Description:
Head is a new EP by Jacob Hutto, consisting of random, flowery, off-kilter, sometimes poppy, singer-songwriter tracks with no central theme. Just prayers, hoping for better days.
Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And give some love. Thank You. :)

Nice guitar tone. I love the wet-ass chorus and reverb. Vocals are a bit pitchy, though, and could use more harmony parts for maximum pop action. Song writing is solid, just focus on singing in tune a bit more and you'll be golden.
>>68614167
Ugly as hell and, at it's best moments, makes me feel like I'm being lowered into a grave, which is cool in a way. Possibly the intention, but certain songs just sound like a dude playing guitar who has no idea what he's doing.
>>68613981
Groovy, man. Awesome, simple stuff with killer sound design, and the loops don't overstay their welcome like so many electronic songs tend to.

Wow never seen these before! But seriously these threads are a circle jerk. Its just the same people recommending the same people over and over, all while most of the "new" people fly under the radar with no reccs.
>>68615518
I'm a known name here, and I have to leave my album in six threads in a row or so before I get any recs. Right now I'm taking a bit of a break until my next album is released, but anyone who's new is going to have to be vigilant to get people's attention. It's when people have gotten familiar with your album cover that they finally check it out.

a lot of the new people fly under the radar because they tend to just post their album and leave. you have to listen to other people's work and tell them how to improve so that they'll [hopefully] listen to yours in exchange, you need to have great album art, as well as post often so that it can be recognizable. you should stick to the same one so that people don't fly over you, since most of the time we just look at the album covers we know and (You) them.
if my album art was just some outdated meme or if i never listened to any of the music in here i would've gotten nowhere in these threads.
i'm not going to say you're salty over this circlejerk because you're not getting jerked enough, but i'd like to know which of the people in this thread you are, and i'll gladly listen to a song or two from you.
>>68615684
>>68616005
Neither of these even addressed what I'm talking about. Yeah I understand that you have to post a lot to get noticed, I understand that people don't release new music all the time, I understand that you need to listen and critique. What I don't understand is the same album reccing the same albums over and over for literally like months on end. Everybody who has ever came to a bandcamp thread has already seen it. It's literally a five or six albums that jerk each other off and don't say much to other posters besides the ones that they see every day. I'm not getting salty because people are reccing my album, I don't post any music. I'm salty because I come to bandcamp threads to find good new music, and all I find is the same albums (which really aren't even that good to begin with) over and over. Doesn't anybody post cool shit that they find on bandcamp that isn't theirs? These threads are nothing but self promotion for the sake of self promotion

>Neither of these even addressed what I'm talking about
alright
>What I don't understand is the same album reccing the same albums over and over for literally like months on end.
well, the thing is people always rec the same albums because those are albums they like, it wouldn't make sense to just stop supporting something you like. i get how that can be annoying to someone who regularly visits to find new music, because you'll always find the same thing over and over again, but to someone who's visiting for the first time, they get to see the best [or most circlejerked] artists by the amount of recs and positive feedback they are receiving. i do believe it's time to make some other artists on here popular, i've been spamming here since March and i haven't seen anyone new becoming very popular among the threads except for >>68603168 and >>68604091
>>68616111
>Doesn't anybody post cool shit that they find on bandcamp that isn't theirs?
i've seen it once or twice and i wish people would do it more. it benefits both parties, the artist gets popularity without even knowing where it came from and the threads get new music that isn't a self promoting circlejerk! people see these threads as just a place to post your own work, which is fine of course, but we should also take the chance to post other people's music too. i've occasionally posted local acts i believe in, i think i'll start doing that again.
i'll deliver on my promise. here's a fantastic local trio that's actually quite popular in the underground scene, i got to meet their guitar player at a record convention and he was great, he even sold me the last copy of one of their EPs.
