>>68596753
>that oneohtrix album didnt do it for me either
That's like the only one by him I've delved into and "got" and for me, it takes a couple listens, with a few more. You can't reallly feel it unless you're familiar with the song structures. I really love it now, but it felt like long chore at first listen. Zebra stood out at first and I started feeling other tracks.
But Johnny Cash is the fuckin man.
Recc: Gang of Four?, Magazine?

Boy how many times you listen to dopesmoker in the last week for it to get on your chart?
I swear I listened to it like 3 times in one week a month or so back and it still wasn't on my chart.
Was just listening to it earlier consequently.
>>68597444
>Loretta ye boi
Hell yeah dude, gave the album a listen a while ago and fell in love with it.
John Prine came out with an album this year, For Better or Worse, and pretty similar to country roots with a bunch of country starlets, great stuff
>>68597163
i'm still not 100% sure i would call myself a fan of lil boat desu. it's kind of a miracle it actually works. one night is probably one of my songs of the year just for how absurdly great it is
svarte greiner - man bird dress is the name of that record

>>68597444

++ tom waits, thundercat, exuma electric wizard, frank zappa, earl sweatshirt, talking heads, xiu xiu, yg, dopelord
check out weedeater for some stoner rock, boris for some stoner/noise rock, digable planets for jazzier rap, and return of the dj vol 1 for some ol dirty bastardish rap
>>68596752
yeah that's about the only good *major* label rap album to come out of 2016
>>68596789
i've only heard 'the shroud of' and that was quite a while ago so i should probably re-explore soon
>>68597542
this is pretty weird, i think i like it tho. I saw the cover on here a few days ago
>>68597508
Give some of her other albums a listen. Old country artists in general just really don't vary that much in quality except for the odd really bad record here and there. Coal Miner's Daughter is an obvious place to go next. Back in the Country is a standout as well and I personally like the albums she did with Ernest Tubbs. Nothing amazing on those but they're really solid and just kind of comforting to listen to.
I'll definitely check out that John Prine album thanks.
>>68597559
Yeah I've got a couple Weedeater albums and like 6 Boris albums. I used to like Digable Planets but I just really cannot stand jazz-hop at all anymore.
I'll check out Return of the DJ though thanks.
I'll check out that album.

i think it's very organic sounding for dark ambient. it's not just digi synth lauded with reverb and delay and plugins. if you're interested in the genre at all his discography is a great place to start. he's one half of deaf center who you might be familiar with.
>>68597710
