Not the whole trilogy. Each Album individually beats out soundtracks imo.

Soundtracks is a great experience and quite the departure obviously from what they had been doing prior, but each album in the Trilogy has a bigger presentation of sound, more eclectic instrumentation, and superior/more patient musicianship which leads to more dissonance and tension in the build-ups, which to me is what Swans is all about.

I feel like a lot of people have a sense of loyalty to STFTB, but let's face it, it also hasn't aged the most gracefully. I don't think any of the albums in the Trilogy will have that issue
