Most martial industrial projects also do neofolk and vice versa, which is why people get kinda confused.
But Neofolk is people with grandpas guitars (or other traditional european instruments) going wooo-woooo and singing about how Europe is dead in a sad voice.
Martial industrial is industrial (sample-based, with electronic elements and homemade instruments) with a martial aesthetic. It's mostly military marching music made with modern equipment. Some of it is just power noise with WW2 documentary samples. Some of it is a dude with a synth, pitched-down vocals and a looped martial drum beat making epic music. Some of it is dudes playing samples of war movies and symphonies with an EBM bassline in the background, etc...
