>song ends with band laughter
>song ends with "HOLY SHIIIIT"
>song ends
>song begins with artist saying the song title 20 times and then laughing
> song ends with random background noise

Bowie?
>>68581695
Absolutely the worst way to end a song
>>68581768
It's so bad conceptually. It's like not finishing a book
>song ends with singer yelling at drummer to stop
https://youtu.be/5MTcEcNYL50?t=2m19s
>song begins with a mistake and they start over laughing
>>68581768
That's probably the Brian Eno's art rock period albums only flaw
>>68581109
but Let's Dance to Joy Division is a good song
>singer clears throat in middle of song
>>68581768
what's so bad about it? is it just that it sounds lazy half the time?
>>68581768
i think it works well on the good times are killing me
>>68582200
that's because it has studio chatter for the first couple seconds and it finishes out the album in the best way (also the flaming lips were involved)
99% of the time, a fade-out sounds like wank
>>68581109
>song starts with band laughter
>song ends with my laughter

Imagine if the book True Grit didn't end the way it did. Imagine if the last chapter was repeated, but with the text getting gradually smaller until it couldn't get any smaller, then the book ended. Or if the movie ended with a gif of Mattie walking away that looped as the screen very slowly faded to black.
Weird, right?

>song is literally just laughter
>tfw you kinda dig on-track banter from the band before or after the song
It's like the skits on hip hop albums but actually enjoyable
While most of you guys come off a pretentious I think I understand where you're coming from. By purposefully including sounds that would normally be cut (band laughing, putting down instruments and walking away, discussing the take) the artist is being insincere. They are intentionally leaving in unintentional sounds to create more personal experience for the listener. It's deceptive. Or maybe they just don't give a fuck, the same way we probably shouldn't.
>>68582577
some lemony snicket shit right there
>>68581695
definitely lazy af 9 times out of 10 but poptimists will defend this so whatever
>>68582691
It's more that they're breaking the 4th wall, some people just don't like being reminded of the process, some think it's a cliche
I don't really mind it, we're already post postmodernism, who cares
