The live version sounds exactly like the studio version, and it's the only live MBV song with decent quality.

Hey /mu/ I have a question, I've been listening to Loveless in some random rip I found of dubious quality, and that's how i just learned to know the album. Recently, I decided to get more MBV and I also downloaded Loveless in FLAC. This rip has all kinds of background noise that I don't remember being in the other one.
Is my FLAC rip worse than my MP3 rip, or did I just learn it wrong?

I didn't like it much either at first, especially the vocals. I wish I could recall the moment it started to click. I think I just made myself listen to it fully after I started to like Sometimes and When You Sleep, and suddenly it was 11/10

This. Most overrated /mu/core album by far.

Some anon described this album as the sound your heart makes when you're in love and I think I agree. The way the sounds just kind of drape over you like a series of thin blankets reminds me of how you would try to steal glances of the one you love and every time you get one you feel this warmth. Like every glance is one of those little blankets.

Then you have this explosion of melody and lyrics in the middle of the album that just kind of melts your heart through your back. From To Here Knows When through I Only Said I get the "I don't want this to ever end" feeling that you get when you're with somoene you love too.

But then you get past Sometimes and the end of the album is kind of sluggish and heavy and just reminds me of how every love I've ever had has died.
