I don't think it was 'solid', but there were plenty of great songs. Perfect Illusion was rock bottom for this album. Dull as fuck, except the end part.

I can see this backfiring on her since it's not the pop banger people are expecting. It's definitely a good record imo though

This album was a 1/10 if even that.
Never heard an album this horrible.
None of the songs are radio worthy.
It's like she's trying to change her entire character and puts on a fake accent/singing that sounds like Miley Cyrus or Shakira (dancin' in circles) on some of the songs.
She's not genuine in her singing.
Album is worse than Grimes album last year too.
All of the songs are forgetful.
Listened once and deleted.

Angel down is her song dedicated to Travon Martin which is fucking stupid.

Heard the recent released versions are better quality of sound than the leaks, any 320 of those yet? Google aint helping.

She's hardly doing it for sales or radio.
She definitely shined through with this album. Production, song writing, vocals, etc.

Take it as you want, but what an embarrassing outlook to have on music. She might be popular, but that doesn't necessarily translate to aiming to make it to the top charts or land radio hits each and every time a record comes out.
This album, in my opinion, is a wild card, and is going to vary strongly from person to person in comparison to her other shit.

Because it's not her music. It's the music of those who actually wrote and produced it. In this case, it's more Mark Ronson's album than hers.

She had the help of great producers, but as far as songwriting goes, she is the main person behind the lyrics. They may have assisted there, but they still have to be credited for that contribution. The album is about her late dead aunt, and it's most definitely her style of songwriting.

She's also a part of the production as well.
