Of Montreal was good to me, but they're also my favorite band. To the average joe I would say it's just okay, and it has a good bit of filler. You gotta listen to Gratuitous Abysses and Chaos Arpeggiating though

happy to see Thom Sonny Green on there. First time I've seen him on this board, figured people thought it was too bland.

He definitely has a lot of potential, and a great understanding of music. I'm excited to see what he brings to the next Alt-J album.

High Anxiety sucked pretty bad, to be honest. So many songs were just dragged out too long when all you needed was to hear the atmosphere & the song's loop once, instead of 3 times each back-to-back. "40 Beers", "Houston", "Beach", and "Neon Blue" were the only GREAT tracks

The new Neutral Milk Hotel double LP is probably gonna slay all these albums.

As a big fan of oM, I thought the new of Innocent Reaches was ass. Kevin Barnes has exhausted all of his electro pop ideas with Fauna and Skeltal Lamping, and took it too far with False Priest. Innocent Reaches is such a let down after Aureate Gloom was so good.

I definitely respect that view. And hell ya someone who liked Aureate gloom, my man! That album got WAY too much hate. Bassem Sabry's one of their best songs of the decade so far.

The thing about IR is obviously he went for a very EDM-inspired direction, but you can tell he had a lot of trouble adapting to that sound and putting his spin on it, especially since only like half the album actually ended up being EDM-y. I like False Priest honestly, at least the first half(it was too long). I think he still has the capacity to do some more original electropop, synthpop shit, just not in the vein of this album. I will say though that IR is WAAAAYYYY better live, so don't let it deter you from going. I was at their kickoff show for their tour in their hometown of Athens and they put on a hell of a show(I mean they always do but even by their standards it was great)
