>I don't listen to singles
>Albums are the proper way to consume music [of all genres]
good thread so far
Jimi Hendrix was talented.

How old are you?
Rockism:
>full albums are better than singles/mixtapes
>lyrical content is important
>musical proficiency/difficulty is important
>concept albums are superior
>popular tastes are usually wrong
>experimentation is a key ideal
Poptimism:
>full albums are not necessarily better than singles/mixtapes
>catchiness is important
>musicality is important
>concept albums are needlessly pretentious
>popular tastes are always valid
>approachability is a key ideal

Am I a rocktimist if I agree with half of the items on each list?
Why are full albums considered a rockism concept when jazz albums are a thing?
>>68558754
In what genres is the album not the proper way to consume music?
>>68558956
Jazz albums were only a thing for the last ten years of Jazz's relevance. Before that it was exclusively singles, EPs, and single compilations.

Now this is quality b8

Electronic dance music
DJ mixes and EPs tend to be that world
>>68558979
If you don't know the answer to this then you're obviously new to music.

>EDM
well who gives a shit
>>68559091
>he doesn't listen to electronic music
kek
>>68558989
Really? I find it hard to believe that the mainline albums like "The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady", "A Love Supreme", "Bitches Brew", or "Karma" were irrelevant to the jazz scene. Maybe I'm just being baited though, since I don't really know all that much about jazz outside of about 15-20 albums I've listened to.
>>68559091
There's a whole general about it.
Why don't you ask them.
While you're there remember to post "wut about ricardo villalobos"
>>68559135
electronic music =/= "EDM"
>>68559207
Right, what electronic acts do you listen to then?
>>68559219
I listen to plenty of electronic music.
Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Flying Lotus, etc. The list goes on.
EDM is shit.
>>68559236
hshahahahahahahhaa
If this isn't b8, kill yourself.
