This shit is literally physically painful to listen to
>>
dude just listen to it like 30 more times lmao
>>
not to me
>>
FAST
>>
>>68553301
i know your being sarcastic, but i fucking hate this advice and people who do it. why stockholm syndrome yourself into liking an album? im pretty sure half of /mu/ does this.
>>
>get interested in experimental music
>explore for a year
>get back to this
>it will sound like easiest thing ever

I have been listening to experimental for a long time and have had this album on the back burner. Still shit.
>>
>>68553333
Quads of shit taste
You can stockholm yourself into liking an album sure, but that doesn't mean every time you need multiple listens to like an album that's what you're doing.
People like you who only ever give an album one or two listens before calling it shit are worse.
>>
no it's not
this album isn't even that difficult to get into
there is very little harshness or noise except maybe on pena
there are actual melodies and rhytms, though rarely in synch
there are nice bits of poetry as breathers so you don't get fatigued

you can play "moonlight on vermont" to a dadrocker and he'll think it's cool if eccentric
>>
>>68553425
2 or 3 listens is plenty, i know i like an album if later on i feel a craving to listen to it again and it becomes a grower
>>
>>68553333
I like TMR but this is very true.
>>
>>68553459
>the way I experience things is the only possible way to experience things
>>
>>68553286
Wow, do you think your head would literally bleed until deflated if you ever attempted to listen to anything more challenging than rock music?

Holy shit, I mean it, if that "weird" rock album is physically painful to listen to, then something properly strange would make your dick turn into a puddle of poorly prepared pudding.

ok you win, but 10 or more times is still absurd

The Shaggs to warm OP up, then The Rez
>>
>>68553333
Agreed. I loved TMR on first listen, but this is so true.
>>
>>68553333
I see your point but it is true to a degree. You cant understand all music on your first attempt. Just like you can't fully understand some films on your first try. It takes time for the themes, atmosphere etc to sink in. My favorite bands of all time took far more than one listen to really click. Autechre for example is not something you can understand the first time. You have to almost, learn how to listen to their music. And once an album you've been trying to get fully immersed in finally clicks, ooohh it's bliss. So, yeah, I really believe in this method.

how much of a pleb do you hab tpo be o be this much of a bpleb
>>
>>68553333
This worked for me though. Nothing sounds the same after this album
>>
>>68553286
I've listened to this album twice all the way through. I understand what people like about it, but I think it's hippy garbage.

Some of the best metal songs ever recorded.
>>
>>68553333
TMR is legit genius, but I know for a fact that /mu/ Stockholms themselves into liking CAN and Faust
>>
>>68554473
I just don't get it. All 4 of those sound like the exact same song to me honestly. That's the problem I have with a lot of thrash metal.
>>
>>68553333
what's wrong with that? it's the same as rehearsing a text until you understand it. you could argue music is supposed to be leisure, sure, but you know when you get a bit more interested in the field you'll eventually become curious and determined to explain to yourself "why'd he do that, how does this relate to my life, what does it do to get there", something like that.

more generally, you're aiming for positive feelings, overcoming negative ones. it's just a fact of life that you'll have to learn to accept certain things

Dub quads
TMR eternally btfo
>>
>>68553700

This album should click after the second time MAXIMUM. It is not that inaccessible.
>>
>>68554644
>>68554744

OH SHIT. TWO 44s IN A ROW, ONE IN RESPONSE TO QUADS.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN??
>>
>>68554772
It means i have a lower chance of getting dubs but a higher chance of getting trips.
>>
>>68554502
Faust maybe, but Can? Stuff like Ege Bamyasi and Future Days is quite accessible.
>>
>>68554862

I would say that Faust s/t and Tago Mago are both stockholm albums.
>>
>>68554558
Maybe metal's not your thing then. I liked it a lot more about 10 years ago.
>>
>>68554886
Well like half of Tago Mago is pretty accessible at least
>>
>>68554964
It's still boring
>>
>>68553286
yeah, it's good
>>
>>68554996
Nah it's groovy as fuck
>>
>>68553286
okay but why would that, in contrast to its status, not intrigue you?
