This thread rejects the rape culture hysteria of Amber Coffman, Jessica Hopper, Ke$ha, Larkin Grimm, Meagan Garvey, MTV News, Pitchfork, et al.
Chuck Berry's still alive? Is he still filming women pissing using hidden cameras #ourguy?
Thread is quiet

Is it too early to start speculating about pitchfork's end of year lists?
Blonde will obviously be AOTY but I can't think of a good SOTY candidate
>>68539583
True Love Waits will most likely win but 33 "GOD" has a shot too
Formation will be top three and I'll want to blow my brains out
fuck p4k
>>68539615
>Formation will be top three and I'll want to blow my brains out
that song is so close to objectively bad if not in fact there.
Love Drought is so much better its ridiculous
>>68539615
Probably true
Lemonade was trash desu senpai but it'll be top 5 albums
and Sorry and Freedom will be on the track list too
>>68539697
But the song isnt the reason why formation is great
Its big freedia and messy mia
>>68539731
>big freedia and messy mia
are these names of people or what
>>68539738
yeah I dont know what that post means either
>>68539697
I didn't like Lemonade at all, I thought it was a massive step down from her s/t

I have my theory saved in my notes hold up
Blonde is getting AOTY this has been decided since December 2014.
Frank was supposed to get AOTY last year, that's why TPAB wasn't given a 10. Kenny already had one AOTY under his belt and P4K had to rob Frank that year, so 2015 was gonna be his time to shine, but lo-and-behold Frank flaked in July, so Kenny got AOTY 2 as a fallback.
This year comes along and P4K realized how much hype they created last year when they gave a handful of albums the same high score, so they did it again this year. Blonde is getting the AOTY, make no mistake about it. The list will probably go:
1. Blonde
2. A Moon Shaped Pool
3. 22, A Million
4. Lemonade
5. Coloring Book
6. Blackstar
7. My Woman
8. The Life of Pablo
9. Skeleton Tree
10. Freetown Sound
1. Radiohead – "True Love Waits"
2. Chance the Rapper featuring 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne – "No Problem"
3. Beyoncé – "Formation"
4. Frank Ocean – "Nikes"
5. Bon Iver – "33 'GOD'"
6. Danny Brown featuring Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Earl Sweatshirt – "Really Doe"
7. David Bowie – "Lazarus"
8. Solange featruring Sampha – "Don't Touch My Hair"
9. Francis and the Lights featuring Bon Iver and Kanye West – "Friends"
10. Angel Olsen – "Shut Up Kiss Me"

Surprisingly solid predictions

It's so frustrating because Golden Chords is so clearly the best song this year but they won't include it cause they didn't review Sleep Cycle well

NIGHTLY RUNDOWN
Weyes Blood 8.3 BNM by Jillian Mapes
Boogie 7.8 by Dean Van Nguyen
Powell 8.1 by Philip Sherburne
WIFE 7.0 by Saby Reyes-Kulkarni
Cool, I've been really excited for Weyes Blood's new album, the singles have been dope
Week of the low BNM
>>68539840
Everybody forgot about Blonde immediately after it was released though
I'm honestly going with Blackstar as the darkhorse pick, since Chance is completely ignored now as well, and Radiohead, Kanye and Bon Iver are too obvious choices.
literally who

Speak for yourself
>>68540374
I still listen to Blonde pretty regularly. I'm sure I'm not alone

>Everybody forgot about Blonde immediately after it was released though
wut
Blackstar is my AOTY but it might get #3 tops on the pitchfork list, probably more like 5 or 7
>>68540456
You are not. I have new favorite from the record every week. Right now it's Pretty Sweet.
>>68540193
It's gud. Don't miss it.
>>68540374
I agree that Blackstar will get AOTY. If they had reviewed it a couple days later they would have given it a 9+ easily. The fact that his death was a big part of the album but no one realized it until after it had come out justifies retroactive higher scores imo.
Is there any collection of Best New Music albums to download.
>>68540868
No but doing that or at least a list of links for all of them is a good idea

I don't know. The album is more more spacy and disjointed than the singles had led on, at least in my opinion. It's not BNM in my opinion. Still enjoyable, I suppose.
