I'm sick of seeing all these threads about /mu/tants playing Death Grips and shit at parties because /mu/ mislead them into believing that normies would enjoy that shit. Post good music that normies will like.

It actually depends,
Where I come from, that's not accessible at all
>>
>>68535823
Easily this

Debatable, depends on the type of people you're around. I feel like some normies could enjoy this.
>>
>>68535823
Yeah but you gotta understand that
1.) The only kind of music that ever should be played at parties is EDM, which is very rarely discussed on /mu/, and
2.) People who have parties to go to are normies. I don't care how socially awkward you are: if people like you enough to invite you over to their house, much less to give you access to their sound system, you are definitely an normal fag.
>>
>>68536111
Trap is acceptable party music as well
>>
>>68536111
Also this is Monty but I've stopped using a trip so that people quit making fun of me.

>>
>>68536111
Normie here. Current party music is Broccoli 4x, No Problem 4x, some Thugga and Lil Uzi Vert, and random rap. Some Gucci. I don't hear much EDM at ALL.
>>
>>68535823
anything Kendrick lemur
frank ocean
kanye west
Lady gaga
not Danny brown
>>
>>68536755

>gorillaz

B-but Damon Albarn is good ;_;
>>
>>68536111
1.) It's not just EDM. Rap/trap, pop music, and some of the more trendy rock bands tend to be party favorites. I've heard Tame Impala a couple times.
This isn't just about parties though. I'm talking about music you can show your normie friends(in the car for example) and not have them think you're weird as fuck.
2) I always thought normies were just people that didn't browse 4chan, or in /mu/'s case weren't as open minded about obscure music as we are. So anyone who has friends is a normie? In that case /mu/ has a lot of normies.
>>
>>68535823
I can't think of anything better than this. literally every normie i show everything everything to is pleased
>>
>>68535929
Where are you from that Radiohead is too out there for people
>>
>>68536082

Unlikely. This sounds nothing like 21 pirates
>>
>>68536082
some tracks for sure. I think you gotta just give them the highlights first before they can appreciate the full album.
>>
>>68537029
Radiohead freaks normies out
>>
>>68537029
Most rural parts of the U.S tend to have a distaste for music that isn't country or pop.

>>
>>68536111
'best of the 80s' songs are never unwelcome at parties
>>
>>68536111
Getting invited over to play tabletop RPGs with my m8s makes me a normie?
>>
>>68535823
I once put Slipknot after some dude (probably the biggest /mu/tard I've ever met) played Death Grips at a part , nobody noticed the difference.
>>
>>68537013
they're pretty much on the same level as Walk The Moon in terms of how accessible they are.
>>
>>68536755
LCD/ soundsytem is a fucking hack pretty much a new age talking heads but way way shitter
>>
>>68537112
Yeah of course I wouldn't play the whole album. Although the first four songs of it are some of the most accessible.
>>
>>68537564
wow its almost like you never listened to either band
>>
>>68536111

>>
>>68536082
played this for a girl in her car because I love it and though it was something she could enjoy, but she told me that it sounded like trash and that she legitimately thought that her speakers were broken
>>
>>68536132
I don't believe you, but if this is actually montie then I miss you

Kid A freaks people out, I remember being in high school and the teacher put on a youtube video explaining Fibonacci sequences and the creator quite cleverly used "Everything in its right place" and a class of grade 11 academic students were all uncomfortable by it. Honestly I didn't even recognize it. I had listened to some songs off Kid A once in grade 8 or 9 and decided Muse was better than Radiohead.

Boy what an interesting time. I wish I could enjoy any music as much as I enjoyed Muse when I was 14. I thought it was the tits out of ten, but I grew out of it and realized it's pretty much derivative arena rock.
>>
>>68537029
>>68535840

They are pretty big here where I live but people only like karma police, no surprises, creep and high and dry. I'd say everything after OKC is not enjoyable to normies, excepting maybe a moon shaped pool
>>
>>68537989
yo let me guess you got in right at the BH&R release?

A little bit after, wembley would have happened already. The Resistance tour happened when I was grade 10 or 11
>>
>>68537931
What song did you play Tedy? I'm surprised you didn't show her some of your own music.
>>
>>68537117
I am surprised just how little people like them when I think they are purely sublime. Even if I wear my karma police people out here don't get it, they just think it's an interesting shirt
>>
Normies like Bon Iver and can get into ITAOTS

I played her alive in the septic and Those who can't, cheat
she was having none of it

In my experience most normies hate Kanye because of the huge anti-kanye-circlejerk.
They outright refuse to listen to his music because "he has a huge ego and he's an attention whore"
