Oh, hear this Robert Zimmerman
I wrote a song for you
About a strange young man called Dylan
With a voice like sand and glue
Some words had truthful vengeance
That could pin us to the floor
Brought a few more people on
And put the fear in a whole lot more
(...)
Now hear this, Robert Zimmerman
Though I don't suppose we'll meet
Ask your good friend Dylan
If he'd gaze a while down the old street
Tell him we've lost his poems
So we're writing on the walls
Give us back our unity
Give us back our family
You're every nation's refugee
Don't leave us with their sanity
>tfw Bowie saw it coming
wew lads
best song from Hunky Dory
If only he saw it happen...

Life is a bitch. ;_;
Dylan didn't even like Bowie's song lmao

Andy Warhol didn't like his either. Poor Bowie displeased his two heroes.

Honesty what was he expecting to happen
especially using Zimmerman

When the album has a song of such magnitude as Life on Mars, you really can't say that anything tops it. It's just impossible, not to say that Song for Bob Dylan is bad, it just can't top something like Life on Mars.

How can one man be this pleb

But Bewlay Brothers, Quicksand and Queen Bitch are better tracks

Subjectively, sure you can like whatever you want, but Life on Mars is clearly the grand centerpiece with beautiful instrumentation and fuckin strings and everything. It's the one song that seems the grandest, the one that leaves the most lasting impression for most people. I'm not saying you're wrong by the way, if I had to pick a subjective favourite it would be Oh! You Pretty Things cause it's the first song i heard and it's basically the one that got me into Bowie.
