When will /mu/ grow out of the poptimism meme?

Why is it when fans of Radiohead or some other well loved /mu/core band go full autism, it's patrician, but when I do for music I like it's pretentious?

They're monotonous, use a simple guitar-drum-synth pad combo, the vocals are drab, the recording sounds like it came out of a garage, and the entire thing is just like the kind of pretentious but uninspired shit my best friend's brother wrote to play for the local teen church group.

If anyone's the little bitch, it's you for thinking this is how good music can get. If you've explored music like I have, you would know just how incredibly bland Radiohead are.
