In 2003 Bowie compiled a list of his favourite 25 of his vinyl records (he states that many of his favourites he owns on CD and ignored too obvious choices like Sgt. Pepper's)

As some of his most favorite vinyl. All three of those albums are some of the most renowned albums in their respective genre that even the most novice music fan would know. All I'm saying is, if Bowie wasn't including The Beatles for being too obvious he shouldn't have included those albums as well.
