not better, just different.
every genre and style of music emphasizes different aspects of creation, melodically, rhythmically, lyrically, culturally, (meta-culturally...), intellectually.
if you dig through the good stuff in both metal and "rap" (technically, rap is a vocal style, like scat, throat singing, talking blues, yodeling, etc.) you can find things that are very similar despite being of different genres, especially when both metal and "rap" are such broad blanket genres.
