What is the best hip-hop song of all time and why is it B.I.B.L.E.?
It Ain't Hard To Tell by Nas
I like Duel of the Iron Mic more. Also, it would be No Rest for the Weary by Blue Scholars, luv(sic) part 3 by Nujabes ft. shing02.
Rock a Falla, Skank - Fatboy Slim
why it's not B.I.B.L.E. because it's Shadowboxing

...Is it really possible to choose a 'best' song for this genre (or any genre for that matter)? Most genres have been around for a long time (hip hop being about 40 or so years) and with the tons of various styles/sub genres, how is it gonna be possible to choose ONE best song for it?
Maybe a best per-decade or a best per sub-genre/coast, but I don't think it would be very easy to choose ONE song as the best for the genre.

(I'm sorry if this sounded pretentious, that wasn't my intention).

Doesn't sound pretentious at all of you can't choose a best song of a genre.
Even a best album is a stretch

Meh it's probably Danny Brown - 30. It encapsulates everything hiphop is. Rawness, partying, and an underdog story.

BIBLE sucks, I like Swordsman best on that album

Duel of the Iron Mic is somehow the most skippable track on the record. Not because it's bad, but just because it can't compete with the opener.
