Why aren't any of their albums /mu/core?

cause they're fucking trash. fuck will ferrell and his shitty band.
The fact that so many books still name the Red Hot Chili Peppers as "the dankest or most rad or most Californian" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art.

Because they suck
>>68356826
By the way is a great album. Too popular for /mu/ core tho
>>68356826
They're a fun band but nothing they do is really layered or dense. It's just great party music/radio rock
>>68356877
ohh man i got a good laugh from this, anon
They're terrible, never liked them. they feel like the kind of band normies claim to like purely because they were a 'thing' in the past.

So kanye west, the beatles and radiohead aren't more popular than rhcp?

The albums John Frusciante plays guitar on are great. The new album with the new guitar player is a little too different and experimental for most people.

it sounds like coldplay with slap bass
They ruined funk rock. Frusciante's solo stuff is great tho.
this is now a Frusciante thread
They have two albums which tick every box for being /mu/core but they were too popular when most people here were kids and for some reason that gives them a negative association about them.
It was non stop on the radio when I was a kid and listened to cancer so it has to be bad. Californication is basically mambo number 5.

reminder this is from 1984, not 1994
I feel like it was the 90s generation that doesn't truly appreciate the Peppeps, as a 2000s kid they are kind of underrated and extremely listenable.

What the fuck are you talking about?
