Shiny Metal Rods, & Hexagon are not fucking ambient, because they have a beat, & Tassels is borderline noise.

I still love every track off the album though, & it is my second favorite of all time.

This is exactly what ambient is. This album is pretty much a defining ambient album, re-align your definitions to work with this album and not your preconceived notions of ambient.
And yes if it has a beat, like every track on 85-92, it's ambient techno.
