I like them. I think that most of there albums still hold up today and sound fresh yet comfortable and familiar
>>
only " heavy metal" that is listenable
>>
>>68352636
Some of their discog is pretty boring, but Sabotage is a classic. My personal favorite is Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

Ozzy's solo career was alright too.

Iron maiden, though

>Iron maiden, though

true lol
>>
>>68352683
But by that time Ozzy was always fucked up on drugs. People say that Vol. 4 was the last solid really solid Black Sabbath album that was a part of their energy that they had form the start. I'd say their first is the best though. The Wizard is a solid track.

you know "good" music

it's the opposite of that
>>
I'll state the obvious: Ozzy years were GOAT!
Personal opinion: I liked the Dio albums and I think the last good album was Born Again with that Purple guy but after that it was just Tony Iommi dragging the name through the mud.

Saw 'em a few years back at Lotta Poor Losers in Chicago when T.I. had that cancer scare w/Ozzy on vocals. It was a great set but Ozzy can't sing certain songs anymore.

I still pull out the old albums around this time of year and listen to them. (Great Halloween music you know)

Nothing wrong with sabbath except everything after volume 4

"maybe"

I think they're about the only dadrock band I like and they still sound fresh as hell today. I mean honestly I don't know that another metal band has done it better than them.

I've also started to listen to Ozzy's solo stuff and if you can let yourself buy into the cheesiness it's great.
>>
Sabotage is a great album. Not as good as their previous four, but still leaps and bounds ahead of anything since.

And Ozzy kills it solo, as well:

Iommi was in the process of rebuilding the band's credibility with the Martin/Murray/Powell line-up, which was doing extremely well in Europe and Japan, but pissed it all away to run back to Dio when Warner Brothers offered the big bucks and another shot at the American market.

Did one of the most evil sounding riffs, even more evil when live.

I was at one of their gigs when they were touring last summer and the sheer volume was something I've never heard before.
Into to the Void and Children of the Grave sounded fucking massive but it was not ear-shattering so to speak just very, very "big"
