What are the possible time signature?
>>
9/8
>>
>>68352026
I was guessing 6/8, but why 9?
>>
>>68352043
6/8 the way its written
>>68352026
t. cant read music

now try this one for size
>>
>>68352105
2/4 because there's only two quarter notes per measure, but just call it 4/4 because whatever.
>>
>>68352057
there are 9 eighth notes in every measure though
>>
>>68352155
those are triplets you're seeing.
>>
>>68352043
>>68352057
If an eighth note is one beat and the first measure has three dotted quarters which are 3 times the length of an eighth note wouldn't there be 9 beats in that measure
>>
>>68352155
from what i learned, a pair or a triplet is considered 1 note. OP here. Correct me if im wrong.

28KB, 1280x140px
now an easy one
>>
>>68352184
>Dotted quarter note=three eighth notes
>Three dotted quarter notes in first measure
>3+3+3=9
>Eighth notes = /8
>9/8
>>
>>68352456
this reminds me of that math question where te sum in the brackets should come first, or just do the multiply outside first,
>>
>>68352010
9/8. You could subdivide the beat and write 18/16.

if there weren't any bars you could write any signature less than 18/4 and fit it in there.
>>
>>68352306
3/4.
>>
>>68352184
there are no triplets in that phrase
>>
>>68352594
aren't those 8th notes though? can it also be 3/8?
>>
>>68352010
This is pretty clearly 9/8.
>>68352105
2/4.
>>68352306
3/4.

Why not give us something vaguely difficult?
>>
>>68352184
triplets have a 3 over them bruh

either this is notated like shit or they're three eighth notes
>>
>>68352653
Because it's not a fraction or a ratio. 3/8 means three eighth notes to a bar, meaning 3 8th notes in each bar. There's very clearly 3 quarter notes in that bar, so even though the count and feel is the same, the time signature is different. 3/4 is typical used for like trios and waltzes, 3/8 for fast tempoed music. The distinction is mostly to convey feeling to the performer if anything.
>>
>>68352010
I've been playing violin for over a decade and I can tell you that counting is irrelevant.
>>
>>68352824
Maybe for the soloist of student concertos

this
>>
>>68352780
thanks for correcting my mistake.
>>
>>68352906
6/4?
>>
>>68352931
my initial thought was 4/4, but the 2nd bar implies that it isn't.
>>
>>68352906
3/2
>>68352931
6/4 has a compound-duple subdivision, 3/2 has a simple-triple subdivision. It's pretty much 3/4 but with quarter notes instead of eighth notes.
>>
>>68352906
3/2. Why are the last letters of names being cut off?
>>
7/8
>>
>>68353073
more like it only shows just the first name of the composer

>>
>>68353226
Never heard of composers with first names Corell or Berlio.
>>68353241
It's definitely gotta be 2/2. Absolutely.

You really ought to be doing this yourself, in your sleep, if you're majoring in music at least.
>>
>>68352200
