New きのこ帝国 album Nov. 02 2016
「愛のゆくえ」
1. 愛のゆくえ
2. LAST DANCE
3. MOON WALK
4. Landscape
5. 夏の影
6. 雨上がり
7. 畦道で
8. 死がふたりをわかつまで
9. クライベイビー
Not super hopeful for this but hey, new KT is always good I guess
>>68347389
I'm really enjoying Skyforest, it's like symphonic blackgaze, are there any bands similar to them?

What is your favorite dream pop or shoegaze lullaby?
I'll start:

>>68345506
You should just like screaming.
It's good.

>>68347389
Cindy Lee's Act of Tenderness.
>>68344768
So what do you guys think constitutes dreaminess? Cause OP's album is not dreamy
>>68347530
> 畦道で
oh wow they're finally releasing this track? IIRC it's the only song on their demos that hasn't been released up until now.
>>68349836
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nib_rpbPLvs
I think this is a good example of a dreamy track.
I'm gonna post a few isolated tracks for an anon from another thread that was interested in happier shoegaze stuff.
The Majestic High - See Her Fall
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgWt8jrAwds
>>68350842
Chapterhouse has other songs besides mesmerize that are happy
in fact I find most of their stuff to be pretty euphoric
Pearl

The Sunshine Factory - My Sugar Cane

東京酒吐座 - Bright
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=natQF-y0Ez8
someone's gonna say this isn't shoegaze but JMC's brand of noise pop certainly influenced the development of shoegaze
The Jesus & Mary Chain - Happy When it Rains
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5x1F9ohRa4
The Stone Roses are in the same vein as Chapterhouse with all their chiming guitarwork even if they didn't get as wall of noisey. Hell, John Squire had enough effects on his guitar that they needed a fifth member just to control them all.

is there ever going to be a big shugazi dump?
>>68352470
It's a one man project from Japan. He only has two releases under the Cosmicdust moniker, the full album Snow Noise Assemblage and the Enjoy Everything EP, both of which are almost a decade old. I don't even know if he's still making music.
Here's the EP because it's a bit difficult to find. It's also more subdued than the album.

I try to share at least a few things when I end up in these threads.
any style in particular you like?
>>68354221
Thanks a lot man
>>68354236
japanese shoegaze is always good. if you have any melt banana (besides cell-scape or fetch) then, that'd be great.
>>68346451
Absolutely disgusting
>>68354361
Sorry, I don't have any Melt Banana on my computer anymore. As an apology, here's two Tokyo Shoegazer albums.

Shilling for Coaltar of the Deepers, great Japanese shoegaze group with elements of death metal
>>68355260
not a fan
all their non-metal parts sound terrible
pic related is the best Japanese shoegaze
Guess I'm not sleeping again tonight

>>68355260
Just listened to one of their albums I haven't listened to before. Coaltar mixes a lot of different influences and it works really well most of the time. Sometimes they got Nu-metal kinda goofy parts though.
>>68359474
too shy desu
>>68359850
wait
you r a gril right?
>>68358831
actually I know a girl that was into shoegaze and has really good taste
maybe I should text her
>>68360045
uh yeah
what are some good shugazi band shirts?
>>68360533
I need this so fucking bad. The vintage ones are like $300. I could get a knock off version but even that would cost me $50 because I'm in Canada.
>>68351907
got into pic related because of your post.
WHY TF AIN'T NO ONE TALKIN ABOUT THIS ALBUM? It's like only Heaven or Las Vegas and Treasure exist.
What's everyone's /shugazi/ collection looking like?
Rarest thing in your collection?
I managed to snag this off Discogs a couple weeks back for ~$25, which felt like a bit of a steal considering the sleeve and vinyl are both like VG/VG+ but totally playable
>>68360708
It's really hard to find shoegaze records where I live. If I want to buy something I can't just walk into a record store and buy it. I have to buy online. Right know I have picture related coming in the post.
>>68360789
>If I want to buy something I can't just walk into a record store and buy it
I've heard some good shops in Britain still have decent selections of used gaze records since most copies never made their way out of the country because there was little to no international interest in the genre
As a burger really the only way I've seen anything is online or overpriced in the very rare shop
>>68360533
i have an aptbs one that's ok
and and lsd & tsfg that's less ok but still ok
>>68360708
I've only got the classics so far:
Cocteau Twins- Heaven or Las Vegas
Lush - Spoopy
mbv - loveless
Slowdive - Souvlaki
Still missing Ride's Nowhere and then I'll try to snatch smaller bands' records. Too bad shugazi records are so rare and expensive..
>>68360858
I'm from Finland though. I've heard there was a small shoegaze scene here in the early 90's where bands like Ride, Lush and Pale Saints, to name a few, were popular. I guess the people who own these records don't want to sell them. If there are any reissues, they don't find their way here.
>>68360998
>mbv - loveless
>Slowdive - Souvlaki
these repressings or OG?
>>68361041
repressings, I'm too broke for the OG stuff. Loveless cost me like $30 in store and Souvlaki I had to buy online for like $40, both brand new.
>>68360708
>tfw too poor for vinyl
I collect CD's though, and I've got some pretty obscure bandcamp stuff.
>>68360593
That looks so good actually. Hopefully the prices are little lower here in the US
>>68361571
A good number of the original 90s and early/mid-2000s stuff was released on CD only iirc
>>68358565
ETHERIAL WASHES OF BLISS
>>68361630
I don't have a whole lot of rare shoegaze in my collection, most of it is pretty mainstream other than the bandcamp stuff. The rarest """mainstream""" thing I can think of that I own is The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads, which only got a little bit of attention on here.
Other than that, the rarest thing I own is probably a digipak of the original Norwegian release of Filosofem which was only like $35.
>>68360708
I only have some semi obscure stuff I've gotten off bandcamp and online label stores, and some local stuff I found in a record store
oh, and the newer lsd & tsfg album, but that one's shit
>>68361608
you can order some fake copies for like $20 USD + shipping or maybe even less. Just be careful, some designs are poorly copied and look awful like the Ride logo isn't the same font etc..
https://deadvibrations-echodrug.bandcamp.com/album/reflections
>>68357131
on second thought it is actually this the pictures album!
>>68347530
mmmmmm delicious mushroom
So is there anything dreamy and sparse and stripped down out there?
>>68363028
Do you have any examples? Something like this, maybe?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LHLbNHGOBs
>>68363328
I don't really have any examples but what I'm looking for is something that doesn't rely on walls of sound but is still dream pop.
>>68364287

>>68364450
pretty good
i once saw them open for american football actually
Has anyone here seen Sound of Ceres live? Thinking about seeing them if they come around.
>>68347389
Remastered or original. Which do you prefer?
Is shoegaze to music as Impressionism is to painting? Both are kind of dreamy and hazy.
>>68351907
>>68360617
check garlands and their EPs aswell they have some hidden-not-so-hidden gems

This is really dope, thanks for sharing this
What dream pop album should I play for a girl to try to get her into it?
>>68371706
I'd say depression cherry, it's mildly reminiscent of more popular stuff like Tame Impala and is a good launching point to get into other dream pop
>>68371706
pic related is basically slow pop music and it's actually patrician.
>>68362754
>tfw I can't listen to this anymore because I associate it with a time in my life too painful to revisit

Any Japanese shoegaze with a male vocalist?
I'm actually super disappointed there's still no word of a volume 2 to this series

Yeah
>>68375213
This is pretty good, I wish they would sing in Japanese though.
>>68377447
you're welcome, i'm glad you liked it! hope your day gets better.
>>68381482
I expect it'd be fairly difficult to keep the rhyme scheme and flow of the original tracks when they're sung in Japanese. Notice how much Seu Jorge had to play around with the cadence and flow of Bowie to make it work in Portuguese.
