I love the whole scene which they're associated with e.g. Current 93, Coil, and in the right mood Death in June can completely take me away to another world entirely

Much of it is about homosexuality, much about the plight of German soldiers fighting in WW2, multiple songs about the eradication of the national socialist left, some of it is more existential atheist music and much of it concerns contemporary politics (take for example Murder Made History, a big 'fuck you' to post-9/11 America). Of all the neofolk bands DI6 seems to be one of the least concerned with pre-christian Europa.

Death in June really puts me in a meditative state, as do some of the associated artists >>68339050 mentioned. Enjoyable, but not something I can listen to often.

As for their politics, I couldn't care less. I'm moderately conservative-libertarian, and I can enjoy radically feminist deathcore, Communist revolutionary songs, NSBM and anything in between without feeling weird -- I like to think I can separate the art from the artist and their ideology, and I also like to think, in the case of politically-motivated art, that I can entertain an idea in a work of art without having to accept or condemn it.
