I never listened to straight Pop as a kid, it was those shitty alternative bands like Linkin Park, three days grace, etc.
Then I had a pop punk phase,
Then classic rock,
I skipped metal altogether (except for like one Metallica song), I only got into a little bit of black metal later on in my post hardcore phase,
Started listening to indie/emo, punk,
post-hardcore/post rock/noise rock came at the same time, and then shoegaze, and then post-punk.

I would say right now I'm still in an amalgamation phase of noise, post-hardcore, shoegaze, post rock and post punk.

2015-2016: get into modern guitar stuff (steve vai, guthrie govan, polyphia, chon etc), still listening to guns n roses, van halen, the beatles etc
