Who says this? It's not supposed to sound like shit, just old and nostalgic in a way that you can't actually relate to

It sounds exactly the way it is supposed to. It's built around replicating the experience of Alzheimer's disease / dementia in general. It does this very well, as far as can be told.
>>68336222
Yeah, five years ago. What is up with spamming this lately? There's no need for that.
>>68336188
you can call it lazy all you want, but you can't say it's sounds like shit. you either have to a) stop living in hyperbole or b) get your goddamn ears checked because you cannot deny that those dixieland tracks are nice on your ears.
>>68336256
>you can call it lazy
Do any of you know the layering / looping / distortions that went into making this record ? I'm genuinely curious if any of you know what you are talking about.
>>68336270
Yeah I do some layering / looping / distorting of my own when I go to pic related
>>68336270
Please explain them to me. I'm serious
>>68336299
I don't know the technical aspects, so you would have to email James about that.
Anyone paying attention will figure out that these samples are being edited with attention to detail. Samples are split down the middle and flipped front to back, particularly catchy sections are looped, the album begins to fragment the deeper it goes, etc. All things which reflect on the way memory works, especially in the context of Alzheimer's disease.
It's not just thrown together willy-nilly. Probably the worst criticism I've seen of it.
>>68336439
oh its supposed to make me mentally ill

You are far less funny and clever than you think.
