Might want to try making shit in FL Studio or something before buying a fuckton of equipment. Yeah, you can do it by yourself, sure why not, but if you want to be really good then you need talent and dedication. If you're just doing this as a hobby then go nuts. Edit videos in Sony Vegas or Premiere, if you're just compiling basic footage.

All you need is a half decent mic, an electric guitar, and an interface. Rest you can edit on a PC. You can just bootleg other programs to mix your shit and add other stuff like drums in. You don't need expensive shit to make half decent songs.
