Seems like pretty fair score.
Though I can see people being upset seeing some of the tripe pitchfork have given 8.0+
>>

Didn't Ryan Schreiber give Be Here Now a glowing review on P4k when it was first released?

Oasis are a stunningly average band so getting a just above average score seems pretty justified, rare for Pitchfork.

Oasis made guitar-pop aimed at working class British people laced with tropes and sentimentality lifted from the pub after a football match and the sitting room during Coronation Street. That only works for an audience inside the UK and Ireland and sort of resonates slightly in Europe, but in the US it's completely alien. They are only hyped in that one market due to them pushing specific buttons for a very specific audience that no one else bother with because that audience isn't typically educated culturally so it'd be a waste of time.

Oasis crowds are 50% geezers and 50% posh boys wanting to look 'down to earth' by liking the geezer band.

And Blur?
>>
>>68326283
If the songs weren't so ridiculously long and so badly mixed, this could actually be a good and enjoyable album.
