>mfw the melon is complaining about mixing again
What did the melon mean by this

"pay attention to me" uwu~
at least he brings it up
I can't remember the last time I read a p4k or tmt review that even mentioned mixing and balance
>>68325743
Don't think I've read a Pitchfork review that talks about anything other than the intended audience and meaning of an album. Would be nice to talk about music every once in a while
>>68325743
Mixing isn't as objective as he makes it out to be though. "Poor" mixing can be intentionally part of the album's aesthetic and, in that respect, might actually be optimal mixing. I honestly doubt the melon would acknowledge this.
YOU BETTER FUCKING READ THIS YOU MELON HEADED FUCK
>listen to Iver
>33 god is only track that does anything for me
>wonder what melon thinks
>"horrible mixing"
BEAT INSPIRED TRAPS

I've simply rolled my eyes at most of his production complaints but this is what broke the camel's back for me. It's like anything not made in exclusively in a DAW is at risk of him calling the mixing shit.
>inb4 butthurt Bonny Bear fan
I didn't like the album.

>Mixing isn't as objective
are you implying there is a spectrum of objective?
>>68326307
Maybe not a spectrum but I think the artist's vision for the album is important. Look at lo-fi music, for example.
>>68325901
it is objectively poorly mixed. whether that poor mixing is effective is a different question entirely, but something being intentional doesn't automatically make it good.
>>68326729
I don't diagree. There are moments when the mixing is weak, but his "headache" moment is one of them IMO.
>>68325743
>p4k or tmt
It's a really important factor... Basically equivalent to criticizing cinematography in a movie
There is nothing wrong with racemixing
