Esplendor! Really nice seeing them around here
>>
>>68324461
+carter tutti void
they're not a project I see a lot. I think that's my favorite from them too. it's been awhile since I listened to it, or CTV in general, though. it's sorta minimalist modular synth stuff innit? if you like that have you checked out eleh, alessandro cortini, or fanger & schönwälder?
>Esplendor! Really nice seeing them around here
yeah it took a while but I'm finally getting around to really exploring their discog.
>>68324211
check out:
joseph - stoned age man
weird owl - nuclear psychology
up-tight - five psychedelic pieces

unwound set some unsurpassed standards, that is for sure
do listen to Anything Near Water though
it's better than A Taste For Bitters

>>68324714
hi

>>68324812
just pick a genre you wanna explore and go from there I guess
is there anything in particular you're looking to try
>>
>>68325133
uh that's probably not a great idea either
to be a bit more serious: pick some albums you enjoy a lot as a starting point for your musical expedition
then check some RYM lists that have your chosen album or just RYM charts in that genre
or try last.fm's similar artists feature
(or even spotify's...it's better than nothing)
>>
>>68324678
Yeah I guess they are kinda underrated even in industrial circles nowadays, but they are finest and basically one of the pioneers with TG and all so I don't really know how can it be that they are underrated but yeah, modular synth stuff, really close to techno actually but with an industrial edge and subdued vocals, also lots of reverb.

I only know Cortini off that bunch so thanks, will check the others.
>it took me a while
What's your favorite? Their compilations are usually neat, especially one that's all their singles, can't remember the name.
>>68325044
YES, my favorite track off of it
I listened to it when I saw you gave a high rating to their rarities comp. and although it was kinda meh it led me to Unexamined Life, which amazed me. Loved it.

(it's socks btw). So thanks for introducing me to UL indirectly, man.
>>68325082
ofc he can, I was just clearing shit out in case he mixed threads or smthn, no hostility at all, man

>>68325252
their entire discography is amazing
the only reason Working Man's Dick is my highest rated is because both my favorite songs are on there (All That Returns and Descension Song)
but it's definitely a lot less polished than their later releases

...my 4CD boxset is still on its way from the Amazon warehouses...
>>
>>68325133
>i was looking for something more like pic related
other than the rest of earth's discog i dunno anything like that, which is a shame.
>>68325252
>What's your favorite?
el acero del partido was the first I heard and the only one I listened to for a long ass time. recently Tarikat II and Ultraphoon have really stuck with me. I haven't gotten to any of their comps so I'll have to check them out.
>>68325082
>caroliner makes spastic, atonal country music and they are great
sweet, this is the band I've been looking for over the last few months. someone reccd it to me as "industrial bluegrass" so I heard one song and thought it was great and then promptly lost the band name. you're a lifesaver dude

shame, i really love that kind of bliss-drone on The Bees.

Also, talking about Esplendor, check Comisario de la Luz, it's GOAT
>>
>>68325649
>4CD boxset
Oh, fuck, is this their whole discog box set? Does it come with extra stuff or anything else besides the actual albums?

The Emotional Plague is damn good too. I would have never taken them seriously with that name but man, they are good.
Makes me wonder why they didn't transcend in time like, say, Sonic Youth did...
>>68325712
It's great. Mine has to be Kosmos Kino, it has a more "melodic" approach, closer to minimal synth than noise but still great.

The comp I was talking about is "1980-1981 Prehistoric Sounds"
>>
>>68325712
if you like Caroliner, maybe check out Fat Worm of Error and some early Sun City Girls too (also the Carnival Folklore Resurrection series)
>>68325862
yeah, Working Man's Dick, Unexamined Life, Emotional Plague and the This Is Not A Dick EP + some rarities
I've no idea if any extra stuff is included but i sure hope so
>>
>>68325903
I need to look into this, but it'll probably be quite expensive. Fuck me, alwyas missing physical releases of records i like... I fucking missed the Ape of Naples recent reissue because I didn't have the money :(
>>
>>68325959
i get you
money is the reason i don't buy a lot of physical
this box was 22$ and an extra 6 dollars for the slowest shopping possible
that's a pretty nice value i guess
>>
>>68325801
>bliss-drone on The Bees
maybe check out
oren ambarchi - sagittarian domain, this is a little weird but it's the closest I can think of
phill niblock - hurdy hurry, this is truly drone but it's almost melodica and the hurdy gurdy sound is amazing
bong - stoner rock, drone metal with some sitar noodling. I find it super hypnotic
birchville cat motel - beautiful spark triumph, "bright" occasionally noisy drone by the guy behind black boned angel
>>68325862
>Kosmos Kino
yeah that's a good one, imma be honest I haven't heard something I've disliked from EG
>>68325903
>check out Fat Worm of Error and some early Sun City Girls too (also the Carnival Folklore Resurrection series)
will do
>>
>>68326019
the fuck, that's really nice price value. If it's just the records I may not buy it but i'll look into it and if it includes any booklet or juicy liner notes or smthn i may get it...
