why is melody considered the end all and be all of music? timbre, texture, rhythm, and spatialization are all utilized in a super ingenious way on elseq.

also the improvisational aspect is really impressive seeing as "electronic" music is often so quantised.

From an intellectual point of view, I agree with you. I guess we've all just been conditioned to look for melody all over the place and it makes elseq just mostly unmemorable and difficult for a pleb like me to really get into.

yeah, i get u. we are drawn to familiarity cus it's comfortable and it's easier to project our memories and emotions onto something that is familiar or recognizable, which is basically what melodic music is for many ppl.

i just take a different approach with experimental music - the confusion is something to be savoured. get lost in it, u know. once you get accustomed to it and figure out all the patterns it becomes enjoyable in a different sort of way, but that initial disorientation is just unbeatable imo!
