The issue is that when you extrapolate and go all the way back to our ancestors in ancient Greece, it doesn't quite make sense to say their IQs are -2000. Aristotle is generally regarded as the most intelligent man who ever lived.
There are a few explanations for this and how it works/fits in with general IQ trends, but I'm not well versed enough to explain easily. Just search Flynn Effect to learn a bit more.
