Have you listened to Jamila Woods? She's an neo-soul/alt. r&b singer. Her sound is something like Erykah Badu, pretty nice.

It's not really industrial, though. It's pretty far removed from industrial actually. "Electro industrial" or probably just "dark electro" is mostly dance music and a lot of it isn't taking itself very seriously.
