So, what are your thoughts on how to improve Soundcloud? What features should be added or removed?
I'll start by saying that groups should have never been removed from the site. How are you supposed to even try to promote your music on Soundcloud if there's nowhere to share the music at?!
music to takeover ur thread to

on topic, maybe they should make there mobile app not complete trash. It used to be good until they changed it to DUDE ALBUM ART LMAO
>>68279383
I'm not familiar with the previous version of the app, but yeah, generally there's too much emphasis on album art in music websites because it makes the websites look better. In my opinion they should show the user more info about the audio itself, like Spectograms and VU meters for example.

Groups where pretty useless desu.
>>68279168
ooh fuck didnt know
There is not much to improve desu. I like a lot of the site. Its more the community that should improve
>>68279529
I can agree with that... Mostly everybody just shared their music and did not listen to other peoples stuff, and I'm kinda guilty of that myself ahah, but it had potential.
If, let's say, if it had existed an actual active group. It would be a great way of promoting your music and perhaps create contacts with other musicians.
>>68279592
No problem. It's a great website for sure. Communities unfortunately could always be better
>>68279625
Well there where some groups that kind of worked.
But those where monitored by people and your track had to go througs some kind of filter first. But that resulted to sometimes quality content. And those where the groups people really followed
I dont think soundcloud will really work that way. There will always be people that will fuck it up. But I do like your idea.

also on topic if there was some way to show a song as collabs not by a single artist that might create more community.

I find it funny how everyone takes this as a soundcloud thread kek, anyways I would like to see who downloads my tracks too that would be cool and if they could add a way to promote inside the site like comunities or something I have heard about the times when groups were a thing but I didn't catch that. Also like band battles and shit would be cool and events like indie week or hip hop or something that would get a comunity going rather than single artists promoting their own shit wherever they can.
Could anyone give me some feedback?

its alright it could be a little more heavy hitting
>>68282081
Should not have used the Soundcloud logo on the thread preview perhaps. It starts the reptilian part of the brain that urges people to share their pages link.
I see what you're saying. Perhaps the inclusion of a forum inside the Soundcloud website would be beneficial. Through that forum those events that you mentioned could be organized by the admins whenever the felt like it. Great stuff!
>>68282279
Thanks man appreciate the feedback.. I've had the same feeling myself every time I played it through different speakers... Any tips maybe?
>>68282323
I know I will probably get a shit ton of hate for this but maybe we can get enough people to start a subreddit or maybe make our own forum in which we can organize stuff like that.
>>68282492
Not a bad idea! Maybe a facebook group since more people on here likely use fb than reddit.
Call it like Com/mu/nity or something.
>>68282492
>>68282582
Soundcloud won't implement any of these features on a foreseeable future, or ever. But a dedicated website or Facebook page dedicated to the /mu/ community would essentially be an extension of /mu/, or more precisely an extension of the Soundcloud and Bandcamp threads. Wouldn't it make more sense if people organized these sort of events right here instead of going to an external source?
>>68282582
Shit that's actually a pretty dank idea I mean there are a lot of facebook groups that work and started from 4chan like /v/ has like a gaming facebook group with almost 30.000 people
>>68282648
oh shit, there's already a page for it on facebook

Soundcloud.coms share place is facebook and other social media. People can find the music and if it's especially good and something really special it'll catch on and people spread it themselves. The hard part is building a base big enough to get it to spread
