>spiderland
>american football
>battles
>the worst You Slut! album
>no Toe
>no té

>too much kinsella faggotry
>too much zach hill faggotry
this is 'math rock for people who doesn't like math rock'
>Medium Bastard over Critical Meat
>math rock chart
>no toe
This is fucking bullshit
>>68278016
Pretty bad. Half this shit isn't even math rock. And you're missing lots of good albums
Let's do a new chart.
Which album should be the starting point? Don Cab 3?
>>68278016
>Battles Gloss Drop
>Not Mirrors
Wyd
>>68278016
Friendship is the best album on here
Cryptomnesia by Omar Rodriguez Lopez is one of my favorite albums of all time
>>68278245
Nevermind. The chart is still pretty shit. Why is American Football on there?
>>68278095
>lightning bolt
i guess we should throw in melt banana in that case and just make it a quirky rock subgenre chart
>>68278350
>Why is American Football on there?
It has twinkly guitars and uses 7/4 sometimes so it's le mathrock
>>68278389
dude LB is literally hella + overdrive x100
>>68278245
its to the left of it
>>68278095
>toe
>math rock
kek
>>68278508
it's not even close you idiot
hella is way more mathy, lightning bolt is straight noise rock with no mathy elements at all
>>68278137
>>68278095
toe is fucking shit
>muh tapping
>SO MATHY AMIRITE
>>68279682
more math than DUDE TWINKLY MID-WEST LMAO
>>68279723
what the fuck are you even talking about idiot?
>toe fags
lmfao
>>68278016
Way too low resolution and no album names. Anyone not into mathrock won't care about this chart.
>>68279836
>no album names
are you blind?
>>68279893
Yep, sorry. The small part still stands. I did not get my reading glasses.
>>68279919
>The small part still stands
it's readable
>>68279997
That's subjective, glad it works for you. I could read it myself without glasses by just zooming in. Choosing another resolution might just make it more comfortable to read and less blocky.
>>68280266
somebody just make a new chart then
>>68280299
A BETTER ONE. WITH 52 INCHE RIMS! GOLD PLATED! AND A FUCKING JACUZZI IN THE BACK!
>>68279771
Not to feed into the toxicity but what I think he's referring to is the entire lower left quadrant of the chart.
So many math rock charts/threads focus hard on the "twinkly mid-west emo" side of math rock, and ignore the east-asian chill-math rock scene.
This could be fixed by amending the charts. But this is 4chan. Nobody wants to have to fix the charts.
Who knows, maybe I'll fix the charts and post them later.
>>68278016
I think spiderland is bland, boring tripe.
Can someone enlighten me on why they are "so influential" and shit?
>>68280949
they influenced a very specific strand of emo and posthc and nothing more. you don't have to like it if you don't want to friend
>>68280967
Yeah cool story bruh.
WHY are they influential? What did they do that wasn't done before and was copied by people afterwards?
>>68280986
Not him but they combined poetry and spoken word with emo and post rock, while those two genres were at a pretty early age, so that might be why
>13.0.0.0.0 has a better singer than Animals
Yeah okay
>>68281015
Alright fair.
>>68281053
Couldn't disagree with it more either.
Having Spiderland in a math rock chart is pretty stupid.
Having Spiderland as the starting point for a math rock chart is beyond stupidity.
>>68278095
This guy gets it, except for the LB part.
>>68278215
Cronologically, like you would with any other genre. This means, starting with Mad River's debut from 1968.
>>68279771
don't you have a /emo/ thread to shitpost in?
should start with discipline desu
>>68281073
agreed
>>68281073
>starting into a easy genre with one of the most complex prog rock albums ever created
wut
this chart is dumb but i wish people would show more love for A Minor Forest
>>68278016
june of 44 - four great points
>>68281194
I see a kitty wearing a metal helmet, doc! Tell me i'm not fucked in the head, PLEASE doc!
>>68281073
>>68281129
No
>>68281162
Barely complex and barely prog
No anyways
>>68278137
agreed
we all have different definitions of mathrock
Clever Girl
Dios Trio
etc
>>68278016
what role does Robert Fripp have in regards to math rock?
