13 years later do people still dislike this album?
It's not as bad as people think but good stretches of the album are genuinely tedious
It's become a meme and I'll bet a majority of those that hate it have never heard it save for meme parodies
Go to bed, Lars.
Shit production.
Awful lyrics.
Most songs are way too long and aren't dynamic or interesting enough to justify their length.
No really memorable songs.
It has a couple of neat riffs here and there but that's about it.
This album sucks lol. I can see /mu/tants attempting to force it for the sake of being contrarian.
I tried typing the lyrics to Frantic and the robot thought it was spam LMAO
Ill conceived from the start, It was the result of Metallica's fear of becoming irrelevant. They tried to emulate music that was popular at the time. Getting Bob Rock to play bass was a mistake, having Bob Rock involved at all was a mistake.
It's just a genuinely mediocre collection of songs with shit tier production

This. I was 16 when it came out, and me and my metalhead friends REALLY tried to like it, but it was apparent even after just the 2nd listen that it was complete and utter garbage from start to finish.
Then again, I'm of the opinion that Metallica was abducted by aliens some time around 1989 or so and replaced by pod people/replicants.

Are you me?
My buddy and I bunked off school to go buy it on release day and we were too young to know shit about production and that but it just didn't feel right.
I didn't hate it, I just never listened to it more than say, twice
The album should've been like 30 minutes shorter since they protools copypasted all the songs to be twice as long as they should've been.
title track is not that bad
