I've read like four books about Sonic Youth
i'm fairly sure there's nothing i don't know about mm at this point
yes, i know about mystery band
I own an A Screw / Time is Money (Bastard) cassete
You fags have no idea how rare that crap is
>>68268484
what was his childhood like?
whoops
Don't we all?
I was really into Slipknot in my early teens and I still remember a bunch of stupid facts about them.
>>68268630
>yes, i know about mystery band
what's that?
>>68268602
who is the girl in the image
>>68268712
a band that played for one show, formed of isaac brock, julian koster, kevin barnes, and a few other of the elephant six guys
this is the only recording of them, sounds like an ugly casanova song

Tell us about these stupid fats
>>68268745
One of their groupies from the Haymakers club that used to be in Wheeling, IL. Circa 1977.
>>68268789
you're a stupid fat
>>68268789
Did you know that #4 Jim Root is not on the album cover of the Self-titled album? Instead it's former guitarist Donnie Steele.
Did you know that the original Slipknot line up that recorded their first demo, Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat, had only 6 members.
Did you know that the first orgininal members of Slipknot were Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Andrew Colsfni, and Clown?
Did you know that the dreads on Corey Taylors first mask were actually made of his real hair?
>>68268885
No one should be able to remember this many pointless details about a band like this
>>68268670
It was good. He and the rest of the anco boys went to weird, alternative schools and worked at a record store. He just took a lot of drugs and made music with his friends.
Also he went by Edgar for a bit
>>68268936
You've clearly never met, or been an adolescent.
>>68268462
Hey, so do I.
>>68268952
I remember that Noah said he really hated that record store job because he disliked some of the interactions with people.
His childhood was pretty standard fare I think, he had various hobbies and was really into sports (still is).
>>68268952
>Also he went by Edgar for a bit
Source? Sounds interesting
>>68268936
I hate myself for remembering it. But who knows, maybe I'll be in a life or death situation or something where this trivia can save my life.
>>68269045
not him but
>Avey: honestly josh and i are the only two of us who ever used the masks. Josh for HCTI and me for our first two years of playing. I cant remember tho if he and i always wore the masks during the hcti tour. Noah used to wear a panda hood on his head when we first started playing then just kind of started putting make up on his face and once wore a white wig all the time when we toured in europe. That was a really weird time for noah. He insisted on us always calling him edgar and so we had to introduce him to all the promoters that way. I remember once he took morphine that i gave him and he was all drugged up when we were out with the promoters and it was really funny cause he could barely stay awake and we were all like "awwww come on edgar..stick with us keep going". Kind of like what i sing in infant dressing table. We nick named our driver eric the red and he accused rusty santos of stealing money from us but it was really josh and not rusty. Brian has only ever wore that headlamp. He does it for the most part so if the stage is too dark he can still see his mini disc players and what track he is playing.

coolio. Im gonna ask a random question then for you guys. Though it's more opinion: how do you enjoy the evolution of daft punk as artists? I think they got much better with time
the shame has gone with the wind
>>68269535
I love it, despite the relatively small amount of content that they have produced. It can better be described as maturity as opposed to any correlated change But said maturity has obviously given wake to a movie score and their own version of a tribute album.
>>68268885
is it bad that i knew this too
My mom's favorite band, she played it in the car regularly. I know all the songs by heart.
Pretty entertaining band when you start reading the lyrics it's all sorts of dark and fucked up shit.
>>68269942
Er I guess I should have mentioned it was Steely Dan, would have imagined the image would contain their name.
>>68269898
agreed well put. maturity's a good word for it
>>68269535
Here's the thing I like about their progression. I think they have a great balance between the artistic, emotional, and commercial aspects of their music, and you can tell they have perfected this balance through the years.
It's a tough combination to get, but they seem to do it effortlessly, and without sacrificing integrity or vision.
>>68269898
>pic related
I've been rused too many times now anon. Here's hoping.
>>68268462
Bowie, Dylan, Beatles, Zeppelin, Bjork
>>68270085
Oh, and Radiohead.
>>68269942
patrician mom
I used to know everything about these guys, I still know some.
Easy mode
I used to know exactly what kind of instruments they used on most songs, how they recorded it, anecdotes from studio sessions, how much each one contributed to the songs, etc.
>>68268462
I don't actually know a lot about a specific band, but I always try and remember one fact about each album for fun.
>>68270252
That's actually pretty rad
>>68270337
I still have copies of the books with all the info so I could look it up. I have an uncle who is a lifelong fan from back in the 60's and on my birthday he got me those. He has some 'rare' stuff like the white album with a unique serial number, both us versions and uk versions of some of their albums but he got them when they were first released. He was pretty much the one who got me into music, so naturally I obsessed over the beatles.
MUSE
Matt Bellamy likes to cook pasta at home to relax.
Chris was gonna be the drummer but gave it up because the band was lacking a bassist.
>>68268684
Same.
>>68270403
The Beatles were what got me into music too
>tfw no one I knew liked the Beatles or said, "I love Hey Jude and Eleanor Rigby!"
You were lucky
>>68270473
I still remember the very first time I heard the beatles. I dont know if this tape is rare as fuck or not but it was the looney tunes singing beatles songs. Was fucking awesome. I loved hearing the looney tunes sing "hey it's your birthday" before I went to bed haha. Anyone heard what I'm talking about? i just now remembered it
>>68270473
man if you knew my uncle, he always had something new to tell me about the beatles and rock overall, I could never surprise him no matter how much I looked up obscure facts and stories, he already knew about them! I love talking to him about music not only beatles, makes me feel like a kid again.
On another birthday he gave me a rare bootleg of them playing back in 1962 in hamburg I think and I swear I still haven't found it online, it had an early version of "I saw her standing there" back when it was called "Seventeen", it even had an harmonica solo and also that kansas city medley from Beatles For Sale.
>>68269935
I guess it's not that bad. Personally I remember being really curious about Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat and that whole era from Slipknot. MFKR1 was a great website.
Honestly MFKR is still a really good album in my opinion, and one that deserves more appreciation as it's not really a Slipknot album.
>>68270695
true, its far more experimental and actually worth a listen, slipknot fan or not
I've read just about every article/book I can find on them
>>68270695
I remember watching Anders stream on youtube. Dude joined a bunch of mediocre metal bands. Too bad really. He left because they let Corey in while he was still in the band and Corey pretty much phased him out.
>>68270821
honestly now that i've grown out of that weird phase where slipknot seems like a cool band, mfkr is somehow still one of my favorite metal albums. not sure why
>>68268602
Is that Dj Aaron Ellis?
>>68270852
I feel the exact same. A lot has changed in my life, I've listened to thousands of more albums and discovered lots of more genres that I enjoy. But I'll always be down to listen to MFKR, while I can't do the same with the rest of their discography.
What's your favorite song of the album? Gently is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EWfA_5NK9U
>>68270917
I always thought hearing Anders' takes on the old songs that were on s/t and Iowa was interesting. The MFKR version of Gently is really beautiful and Do Nothing/Bitchslap is one of those really out there songs that really show how different they were back then.
>>68270917
I like all the songs, really. Can't choose a favorite, but Killers are Quiet is really something special. Great buildup. Do Nothing/Bitchslap is also one of those weird ass songs that you can't help but enjoy. Sounds like something straight out of Mr.Bungles s/t.
>>68268585
share some stuff. I love them
