Who /tinnitus/ here? How do you deal with it? Anyone find it interferes with music listening?
>not protecting your ears
how did you let it get so far anon?

For me it was a metal phase and listening to music on loud trains/buses that required high volumes to drown out

Yeah I have it too. Sometimes tho it might be when you have too much earwax. You can reduce the noise removing some of the earwax.
So how long can I listen to loud music before it begins to damage my ears? And how loud?

got it randomly last summer while normally watching tv. I'm kinda used to it

23y.o. now. I dont really remember how long I have had it. Definitely more than 5 years for sure. I only hear it when I focus on it or when there is silence around me. It doesnt prevent me from sleeping or whatever, but because of this I think that I hear other people less...

That's part of why I always have a fan going in my room, sucks when it gets cold in winter and I have to turn it off.
I think I was born with mild tinnitus but I definitely made it worse by seeing Boris without earplugs
Can hardly notice it if there's any other sound in the room but I'm taking steps to avoid making it worse

have it since over ten years. you just learn to deal with it, mostly by having some kind of background noise on at all times.

that may be the most useless answer to that question

I used to have it really bad but I barely Notice it anymore

60/60 is a rule that says no more than 60% volume for 60 minutes a day. I usually do like <13% because I hate loud shit so I am not worried about the lenght of my sessions. I still have weird tinnitus, which is not really a high pitched sound but like an internal pressure that creates a hum, I had it for such a long time that I don't give a shit, I don't know the cause and I am too lazy to search for it. Generally anything that makes people speak louder becuase they can't hear each other clearly is too loud.
