Depeche Mode Fans, High IQ?

Depeche Mode are my favorite band desu and have been since I was a young child. First album I ever listened to all the way through was Depeche Mode's singles collection my parents owned. Their first date was a Depeche Mode concert.

I've always got the impression that it's pop music for sophisticated people even though I've never taken the time to get into them myself, with the exception of "Never Let Me Down Again" which is great

Some of their lyrics are hilariously brilliant
For example Somebody which is one if the most bittersweet songs I've ever heard - superficially naive, as a lot of their songs are (they were doing that before The Smiths even existed) but shot thru with years of experience and dry humour

The production on some of their stuff was way ahead of its time, but everyone knows that

My fave is BC, too. That album inspired me to take a year off college and make music.
