I actually just re-listened to this in its entirety a few hours ago. It truly is a masterpiece that will stand the test of time beautifully. I can't stop listening to In California, and Baby Birch is probably the most tragic song to have been written in this century

Love this record :)
I've been putting Divers off because I didn't really like the single. Maybe I should finally check it out

duh

what the fuck anon listen to it already. Not quite as good has hoom or ys, but still fantastic.

Sapokanikan? I didn't love it at first either - a bit too conventional singer-songwriter for me - but like most Joanna tracks it really grew on me the more I dug into the lyrics. Dense af and jam-packed with all sorts of lore and references. Plus it works better in the context of the album where you connect all the themes.

I would say it's equivalent to Ys. It is an excellent concept record that, if you let it, will wind its way into your heart and soul and truly effect you

Just listen to the title track, it will change your mind
I love every other Joanna Newsom record but I could never get into this one. What am I doing wrong?

Are you reading the lyrics while focusing on the music? Without distractions?
>>68230390
I like to listen to an album a few times all the way through before reading the lyrics, but I've only sat through HOOM in one sitting once, it's just so long.
>>68230441
just listen to the disks one at a time if the length is the problem
>>68229419
Too long and BORING and gay to be honest.
>>68230488
sounds like your personal shortcomings tbqh
>>68230441
There's your problem.
And it doesn't feel long when you're absorbed in the music.

I hate this music
